ATTENTION ! AV301 UPDATE : GRADIENTS AND TOPSHIM OPERATIONAL

The new gradient capability is fully functional.   Combined with the ATMA feature of the porbehead,  users can do everything from the computer desktop, including shimming using TOPSHIM. 

PROBE TUNING :   After inserting sample and setting up the correct dataset, just enter atma on the command line.  Wait for the auto tuning/matching to complete.

SHIMMING :    Topshim program can shim on any of the valid lock solvents.  Please lock on your correct solvent first !  

There are two ways to use Topshim :

  • After atma and lock is complete,  simply type “topshim”  on command line.  Wait until, you get the ‘topshim completed’ message on Status Bar  (below the command line)  OR
  • If you want to see what is going on,  type :  “topshim gui” and you will get a graphical interface as below.  Topshim_gui

Just use the default choices and click on Start. 

  • Once the shimming is complete, you can click on the tab “Report”  to know how well Topshim performed.  Given below is the sample topshim_gui_reportpage for shimming on cdcl3-2H of Strychnine standard sample.
  • The final B0 stdDev shows that the variation in magnetic field along the length of the sample tube is not more than 0.3 Hz.
