UPDATE ! AV301 – SYSTEM READY FOR USE.

The stuck sample (J-Young tube) has been extricated and the system is ready for regular use again.  It turned out that the J-Young tube was bent along the axis leading to the ejection problem.

We have provided a J-Young tube linearity tester at two spots in the NMR lab. Users are requested to test the straightness of their tube using this tool before putting in the magnet.  Picture of the same is shown here.

Please contact either myself or Adrienne, if you need some help in handling this.

A straight tube should twirl without friction when placed within the slots.
