UPDATE ! AV700 : SYSTEM IS RELEASED FOR USE – PLEASE READ

The system is ready for normal use.  Nevertheless, the VT system test is still being conducted in parallel in such a way that the users’ runs are not affected.  As before, the LN2 tank you see is the source of the N2 gas, which is used as part of the troubleshoot process.

The supply from this tank should last a few days. When it runs out, it is normal for the VT system to report a loss of gas flow.  I will keep a close eye on this and do the needful.

This is indeed a slow process that lasts several days and I really appreciate the patience and cooperation from the users during all this.  A final fix to the VT system is of course in all our interest. This is the only spectrometer with a VT system that can reach low temperatures without any special rigging such as a liquid Nitrogen tank and exchanger.
