REMINDER ! PLEASE READ : COVID19 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS ARE STILL IN FORCE…
Dear Users
While we are all rightly feeling optimistic about the positive changes that are to come in 2021 with successful Vaccine developments, we are also being constantly reminded by everyone, right from CDC to our University team handling the COVID-19 pandemic, that this is not the time to let our guard down. The reducing trend of diagnosed cases around the nation is a very welcome sign, thanks to the valiant efforts of everyone pitching in to do their part, but this is in fact a time to double down on our commitment to
- maintain social distancing
- practice the recommended hygiene routines diligently
- wear face masks/coverings in public all the time, in the recommended way
Added to these good citizen traits is the following important reiteration for you as the NMR user : Please follow the rules that were put in place at the start of this pandemic. Nothing has changed to those requirements, when it comes to accessing/using the NMR Facility. Here’s a quick link to the departmental web page that outlines the steps for all facilities in Chemistry, including NMR.

SPECIFICALLY : The rule that you must bookend your reservation on both sides of the slot by a 10-minute empty period, IS STILL IN FORCE !
IN ADDITION :
- Do NOT come earlier than your appointed slot and linger around in the NMR lab.
- The maximum occupancy for the entire NMR lab (Rm. 37 +33) is four. This includes brief presence by Facility personnel on a needed basis.
- If you plan long experiments such as a 13C or 31P or 2D NMR, start the acquisition and leave the lab. Return at the end of your run to collect the sample.
REMEMBER ! WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER. What affects one, affects all !
Thank you for taking a moment to internalize this and plan your actions.
sincerely
NMR Facility Manager
