AV301 : SYSTEM READY FOR USE WITH SURROGATE BBI PROBE
Dear Users
The regular probe with a faulty ATMA motor assembly is pulled out for repairs. Do not underestimate the probe that is placed in the magnet as a backup, because it is called Surrogate.
This is a newly procured “gently used probe” in excellent condition and gives beautiful spectra as I show below.
- This is an inverse probehead, which means that it has the best sensitivity for 1H observation.
- You can also observe other nuclei, such as 13C, as you would have done with the PABBI probe
- IMPORTANT : YOU HAVE TO TUNE/MATCH THE PROBE BY HAND
Here is the Intro Card for the probe placed on the console :
The probe tunes great and I will show an example of the 13C channel Wobb curve.
Here is a 1H spectrum from Lineshape standard, highlighting the resolution seen with the Acetone-d6 pentet.

While we do everything we can to expedite the repair of the regular probe, I hope you will put this great probe to good use and keep obtaining the needed spectra for your research.
The small inconvenience of tuning/matching the probe by hand is a worthy price to pay to keep your work throughput at top level.
Please approach either me or Adrienne, if you need further help.
