Dear Users

I have been receiving sporadic complaints that the Locking operation is not reliable as well as Topshim is giving ‘iffy’  results.  I briefly looked at the issue this morning and I am also not very happy at the shim results.

Since there are a few moving parts to this subtle problem (the failure is not always noticeable),  the system will be unavailable until I can smoke out the gremlin behind this.

I will post any interesting updates as time passes to satiate the technical curiosity of at least some of you, and so stay tuned.

The idea is to give you back a system that is consistent and predictable, even with any limitations that may arise.
