Dear NEO500 Users

This is a renewed call made a few weeks back about the piling up of unused/completed NMR sample tubes, that is overwhelming the system.  See picture below :

 

Since we don’t have a capacity larger than 24 sample tubes,  we really need you to be on top of your cleanup act, after the experiment is done.  

With the newly implemented feature, you should be getting an email alert as soon as your sample has been run. 

There is no pertinent reason for you not to know when to remove your used sample.

I will end with this mild warning. 

• EH&S  WON’T TAKE IT LIGHTLY WHEN THEY MAKE A SURPRISE DISCOVERY OF ABANDONED SAMPLE TUBES LIKE THIS.  THE DISCIPLINARY ACTION THAT FOLLOWS WILL BE MOMENTOUS FOR ALL OF US.
  
• IF WE DO NOT MEND THE WAYS, WE WILL RUN OUT OF SPACE IN THE CAROUSEL THAT WILL BRING THE RUNNING QUEUE TO A GRINDING HALT.
• IT IS PRACTICALLY NOT FEASIBLE FOR FACILITY STAFF TO HANDLE THESE ABANDONED TUBES IN ANY REASONABLE MANNER.  DRASTIC MEASURES MIGHT HAVE TO BE TAKEN AT OUR END IF THIS CONTINUES.
