UPDATE – NEO500 and GG500 – PLEASE READ

Dear Users

Starting tomorrow morning, we will implement a two step process to get both the 500 NMR-s to get to full productivity mode (defined with caveat, under the circumstances).

probeheads :

  • Prodigy cryoprobe will be uninstalled and packed for shipping
  • The iProbe that is currently serving GG500 will be placed in NEO500 magnet
  • The triple resonance probe TBI-1H{X,13C}-Z gradient probe will be installed in GG500.
    • This probe can observe, 1H, 13C and X-range nuclei, independently
    • This probe does not have 19F capability
  • Both these systems will then be optimized and prepared for routine use

usage calendar :

  • The GG500 will switch to full interactive operation mode. The Automation process will be suspended on this instrument until the Prodigy probe is serviced and returned.
  • The NEO500 wil continue operation using the IconNMR Automation suite.

points to keep in mind :

  • The TBI probe is NOT an ATMA capable probehead.  This means that, we have to get used to tuning/matching all the channels used : 1H, 13C and X nuclei.
  • TBI probe has Z-gradient capability. Topshim as well as gradient dependent experiments such as diffusion spectroscopy can be carried on without issues.
  • The iProbe will function with the same capabilities as before (including 19F observe) when it is transferred to the NEO500 instrument.

The progress and timeline will be updated based on ground realities.
