UPDATE ! NEO500 – PRODIGY HAS RISEN FROM ASHES – PLEASE READ

Dear Users

After the long and inevitable wait, the Prodigy probe has been resurrected (with a stiff price tag) and returned to us by the manufacturer.  We also had to replace failing components in associated hardware that runs the probe.

The probe is being tested now.  We will hopefully deploy the instrument for regular use by Tuesday morning OR earlier.

CALL FOR ATTENTION FROM USERS

I cannot emphasize this enough.  If a user error forces a failure of this precious resource, in the current fiscal climatewe may have to forget about access to this cryogenically cooled specialty probe for an unknown period of time.

Treat this as your own property !

  1. IONIC CONCENTRATION :  ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM OF 100 mM.

  2. Use ONLY good quality NMR tubes.  All samples are run with SPIN ON, usually.

  3. Remove your used samples from carousel, promptly.  Letting other users remove samples in a hurry increases the chance of breakage and spillage.

  4. We might take a serious look at access to the instrument, if we notice repeated infractions.

Communication from the facility will continue,  on the proper use of NEO500 with Prodigy cryoprobe.   Stay tuned for more.
