UW CHEMISTRY NMR

We will switch the AV700 to solids NMR beginning December 8th, Thursday and the system will serve the solids request queue until the end of December as per current estimates.  Based on how the runs pan out, we may be in a position to switch back to solutions even earlier.  Please look out for a post in this space.

Just as a reminder, the 700 MHz instrument is primarily and the only solids NMR system and solid state NMR runs take much longer to complete owing to poor sensitivity even in state of the art instruments.   Solutions users are requested to keep this in perspective and plan their runs on any of the four other instruments.   By optimizing the spectroscopy efficiently you can get decent results on any of these instruments.
