UPDATE ! DRX499 – SYSTEM BACK TO USABLE STATE – UPGRADE HAD SETBACKS
First I will start with a heartfelt thank you for patiently enduring my tinkering and noise making for the past 10 days. What we have achieved so far with this hardware upgrade :
- You can record 2H NMR spectra as well as decouple 2H, without any special cable switching or further complications.
- The old and malfunctioning gradient amplifier has given way to a newer and more energy efficient gradient amplifier board (GAB).
- Technically one can do what is called ‘gradient shimming’ (which is a precursor to the familiar Topshim program). I put this caveat because, you can do the gradient assisted shimming only if you have a fully proteo solvent i.e. 1H solvent.
The system is same as before in all other respects. The new gradient and 2H amplifier provides an easier way for me or Adrienne to maintain the default shim set in reasonable order.
Please ask if you any questions about this process.
