AV700 – UPDATE ON VT SYSTEM STATUS

As part of an ongoing investigation of the ultra low temperature chiller system, users are alerted to the following.  You will notice a Liquid Nitrogen Dewar sitting next to the Aluminum staircase. The N2 gas derived from this tank is used currently to run the VT system.  This setup is transparent to the way VT control is working and users can simply continue the instrument operation as usual.

Caveat:

If you are planning to run a rather low temperature experiment within the next week or so, please contact either Adrienne or myself.  We may need to modify this setup to accommodate such a request.  It will be better, if you can wait for announcement that the system is back in normal operation and then plan your low VT run.
