ALERT : FACILITY FILL SHUT DOWN IN 10 MINUTES

Please remove any samples in the magnets before the consoles are powered down.  The instruments will be back to normal operation approximately by 6.00 pm tomorrow.

Facility back in action

The air supply has been restored, and the NMRs are ready for use.

Facility Shutdown

Due to the unannounced utility shutdown the NMR facility is now closed until further notice.  I have been told the air supply will be back up sometime between 11am and 3pm.  I will post when the air supply has returned and the facility is back in working order.

AV301 UPDATE : INSTRUMENT IS OPEN FOR USE

Although you cannot manually tune and match the probe,  you can still enter wobb and see how well the probe is tuned/matched.  If you ever find this off,  please enter atma in the command line so that the software will do the  Automatic Tuning and Matching. AV301 UPDATE : SYSTEM TO BE OPEN AT 3.00 PM

The new Automated BBI probe is being calibrated.  The spectrometer should be available for regular use starting at 3.00 pm.   If there is a change in this plan, we will notify the user base accordingly.

DRX499 VT Status change

The DRX499 is currently unable to do variable temperature experiments.  Please plan your experiments accordingly.  DO NOT ATTEMPT LOW OR HIGH TEMP EXPERIMENTS OR DEVIATE FROM 298K UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  We will post as soon as the DRX499 is back to normal VT availability.

IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ : AV500 VT UPDATE part 2

Please CONFIRM that the probe temperature is set to 298 K upon completion of a high temperature experiment.  Today someone ran an experiment at 343 K and left it there when the experiment was completed.  This can and will quench a magnet if left unattended.
