Top spin didn’t open and the following error message was displayed:
Your session only lasted less than 10 seconds. If you have not logged out yourself, this could mean that there is some installation problem or that you may be out of diskspace. Try logging in with one of the failsafe sessions to see if you can fix this problem.

Matching looks ok for me – but when I try to tune I can’t turn it “far enough” to get to the center of the parabola, probably about 2 inches away from the center. The tuning key stops and I don’t want to push it too far and break it. It doesn’t appear to significantly affect my spectra.

Attached are images of wobble curves on DRX499 for a sample in organic solvent (d6-Acetone) as well as aqueous solvent (D2O). These were recorded a few moments ago and I did not find any issues with tuning/matching. We can look at your specific sample, if need be. Please make sure that the sample is at correct temperature.

  • Dylan says:

It was impossible for me to match and tune the 499 to run a simple 1d proton. I know that there isn’t anything unusual about my sample because I had just tuned and matched the same sample on the 500 and it worked perfectly. I signed up for the 499 when I had just one more 1H to take on the 500 and I ran out of time.

  • Paranji says:

The WOBB and tune/match are observed to work fine, when checked moments ago.

Attached is a screen shot of CHCl3 singlet lineshape in DRX499, recorded a few moments ago.
I don’t see any issues with the lineshape or with the standard shim file. If you are having particular difficulties with your sample, please contact one of the facility staff and we will be glad to give a hand.

    Hi,

I have been unable to tune/wobb this instrument since the new probe was installed. I tried going to both extremes of tune/wobb to look for the second dip, but have not been successful. Also, the shims are terrible- I haven’t gotten a symmetric peak on this instrument for a while, no matter how much I shim.

  • Adrienne says:

The knob has been adjusted and should work now.
For users: please do not force the knob to one extreme or the other. If your nucleus appears not to tune try matching and then retry tuning. If you continue to have problems, please see a Facility Manager. Thank you.

  • Jordan Anderson says:

The tunning knob on the DRX499 probe will not turn. So I was not able to tune and match.
