UPDATE ! AV500 – FAULTY CIRCUIT BOARD REPLACED

One of two boards have been replaced and we are waiting for the second board to arrive.  But, with this replacement, full functionality is restored to the most part.

  • The 1H 90 pulse width is now 7.5 us at the usually employed lower power (contrast with the 18 us we reported a few days ago)
  • The wobb curve will not have any noise.  An example snapshot is shown here : AV500_wobb_after_SGU_repair
  • Experiments such as 13C 1D with 1H decoupling should show clean singlets for X nucleus peaks.
  • Spin Lock experiments will function normally

The second board will come into play only when the 3rd channel is employed. With the BBI probe, this is not a possibility anyway.   But, this circuit board is also used for Topshim.   Topshim is functioning OK with lower power from the ailing board as of now.  But if you see a total failure, please report to us via the instrument log post.

More updates will be forthcoming.
