UW IT’s DATA STORAGE SYSTEM FOR NMR DATA – udrive – PART 2

We need volunteers to try out this new data storage paradigm, initially via the AV301 instrument.  PLEASE COME FORWARD !!

Your current data storage and retrieval method via  FTP server will NOT be affected during the testing period.

If you would like to help with the effort, please contact me or Adrienne and thank you in advance !

Roadmap of migrating to the udrive storage facility for NMR data :

  • You will see directories with the names such as ‘av301’, ‘av300’ created under your udrive. Here is a picture : udrive-top-level
  • Under each instrument’s name,  a specific data directory structure will be created. This is dictated by the TOPSPIN nmr software :  Here is a pictorial view of how this tree looks like, under av301 in my own udrive : udrive-tree-expanded
  • After the system is in place

    • When you use ‘edc‘ or ‘new‘,  the dataset name will be directly created into the udrive location.
    • When you run ‘zg‘  or ‘go‘,  the FID will  be directly written into this dataset . Here is an expanded view of the dataset : udrive-dataset-with-fid
    • Based on the instrument you are logging into,  the datasets will be created in the respective directory branches.

I am sure you have more questions on this and I will be glad to address them.

PLEASE VOLUNTEER FOR TESTING THIS EXCITING NEW DIRECTION !

THANK YOU
