UW CHEMISTRY NMR

Currently, we have only two spectrometers equipped with the ATMA facility and Topshim functionality.  Decidedly, both these features take the drudgery out of routine NMR run, especially short ones.

If you are someone who come to totally rely on these features for your NMR runs,  you do have to face the following cons :

• You restrict your choice to only these two instruments.
• When one of these features break down at the hardware/software level, you are pretty much stuck

To alleviate this, we are trying to introduce periodic and dedicated training sessions on:

1. How to tune/match a probehead manually
2. How to shim a sample starting from a standard shim set to get the optimal spectrum

I urge you to invest the time/effort to get to these training sessions, and it will save you on a rainy day.
