ALERT ! DRX499 – SYSTEM DOWN UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
A power supply failure is identified in one of the main components of the spectrometer and being looked into. This problem is unrelated to the probehead issue we were investigating. As of now I can’t give a clear estimate of the down time but I hope to update the situation before the end of today. […]

UPDATE ! AV301 – SYSTEM READY FOR USE.
The stuck sample (J-Young tube) has been extricated and the system is ready for regular use again. It turned out that the J-Young tube was bent along the axis leading to the ejection problem. We have provided a J-Young tube linearity tester at two spots in the NMR lab. Users are requested to test the […]

ALERT ! AV700 – IMMINENT PROBE CHANGE
The BBO probe will give way to the triple resonace TXI – 1H {13C,15N} Z-gradient probe on Monday, the 6th February. Solution NMR users who are currently engaging the instrument should note that, they can record their spectra within the same wide temperature range you are able to achieve with the current probe. This probe […]

ATTENTION ! – USERS WHO EMPLOY J-YOUNG NMR TUBES…PLEASE READ !
J-Young NMR tube users must be fully aware by now that tubes that are bent from being perfectly linear cannot be ejected comfortably and they can even cause breakage inside the NMR probehead. Most of the time, the stuck tube entails complete removal of the probe from the magnet, followed by a not so simple […]
