NOTE : AV500 – VT system – OK for routine use
I am trying to satiate the possible curiosity of some of you who might be wondering what is the substance of the ‘VT troubleshoot’ you have been observing on the calendar. Observations show that, when we try data collection at extreme temperature limits such as +70 C, the target temperature very slowly drifts down i.e. […]

UPDATE ! AV300 – PROBE IS FIXED AND READY FOR REGULAR USE !
The broken glass components inside the probe has led to the tuning/matching issues, which is taken care of now. If you had noticed difficulty in shimming in the past as well as a longer than usual pulse width, those are related to this internal mishap as well. The system is tested to be stable and […]

ALERT ! AV301 : PROBEHEAD DAMAGE – BACKUP PROBE CHANGE UNDER WAY
RF coils inside the PABBI probehead have sustained the brunt of shearing forces and the cause is not clear and being investigated. The probe will be sent for repairs to Bruker, the manufacturer. The backup probe that will go in place currently will be TXD-1H{19F,13C} triple resonance probe. NOTE : THIS PROBE IS NOT AN […]

UPDATE ! AV500 – GOOD OLD BBI PROBE IS BACK…
We have managed to fix the X-channel in house and also replaced broken parts where the sample resides inside the probehead. Since things look pretty good with the probe (see image of water suppression : BBI_Sucrose_ES_after_fix ) we are releasing the instrument for use with BBI probe in place. We will check a few more […]

UPDATE ! AV500 – PROBE CHANGE TAKING PLACE
The BBI probe X-channel needs extensive troubleshooting to fix the tuning/matching problem outlined earlier. In its place, we have put the BBO probe as a surrogate. Since this is the first time this probehead is being used in this magnet, it might take longer than usual to prep the probe with optimal shims etc. We […]

ALERT ! AV500 – PLANNED DISRUPTION NEXT MONDAY
The BBI probe is observed to have some grounding issues on the X-channel, that makes tuning/matching difficult when you run ‘wobb’. We will remove the probe to take care of this on the bench on Monday forenoon, the 2nd May ’16. I expect this to be a short operation. NMR Facility Manager 4/29/16

ALERT ! AV500 – IS DOWN UNTIL FURTHER UPDATES
Probehead has a broken insert glass and we are in the process of fixing the issue. We are hopeful the instrument will return to regular use before the end of the day. Nevertheless, users who blocked the instrument this afternoon might consider cancelling the time and look at other instruments.
