AV500 – UPDATE : VT SYSTEM ANOMALY RECTIFIED
The VT system had stability issues that led to sudden loss of temperature control. The cause of this problem has been identified and dealt with. Users are requested to always start the ‘edte’ program and ensure that the temperature is stabilized before they proceed with 1D or nD NMR. Please let us know if you […]

DRX499 : UPDATE – INSTRUMENT PERFECTLY NORMAL !
Some user had attempted (incorrectly) to route the 2H cable for a possible attempt of 2H NMR on the instrument. That led to the condition where subsequent users could not use the Lock system. This is remedied and the system is back to normal for locking on any solvent. If you are not sure of […]

AV300: Tune and Match restored
The av300 tuning has been restored. Users must always and only use the tune tool when tuning and matching any probe! This is especially important on the BBI probes. Please also only apply pressure vertically and never at an angle.

ATTENTION : DRX499 – USERS’ COOPERATION NEEDED
As we all know, the DRX499 magnet takes involved effort to shim up to get usable lineshapes. Duration of 24 hours or more for shimming all the 28 shims is not uncommon. All this effort gets wasted when users inadvertently turn the wrong ‘knob’ under the magnet while they are trying to tune and match […]

ALERT : AV700 – ISSUES WITH SOLIDS NMR
We are currently investigating a sample handling problem with the solids state NMR probe. It is likely that the remedy might take a long time. In such a case the instrument will return to solution NMR operation mode and I will post an update on the same, when that happens.

UPDATE : AV700 – PROBE CHANGE – SYSTEM TO SWITCH TO SOLIDS on April 1st, Wednesday
All users and especially Solutions NMR users should note that the AV700 system will be switched to Solid State NMR operation beginning April 1st, Wednesday. The system is expected to perform MAS NMR data collection for about 8 weeks. Those of you who are interested to explore solid state NMR should contact Adrienne Roehrich for […]
