AV500 : PLEASE NOTE THE TEMPORARY PROBE SWAP

Dear Users We swapped the probe today to BBO as a one time process to access a rare nucleus.  Those of you who will use the instrument over the weekend, please note that, this a BBO Probe that includes 1H and X-nuclei coverage, that includes 13C. What you WON’T have is 19F capability. We will […]

UPDATE ! 500 NMR-s WORKING OK

Dear Users Most probably, there was a power fluctuation in the past day or so that led the 500 NMRs  into an unusable state.  The situation is remedied and everything looks normal with these instruments. In case you are curious, the 300-s have been behaving OK when I checked this morning. NMR Facility Manager 5/31/2022

UPDATE ! AV300 – ATMA NOISE ISSUE IS ADDRESSED

Dear Users Some of you had notified us that the V-shaped  ‘wobb’ curve was showing lot of noise and ATMA was having issues in tuning/matching automatically. The problem was identified to be localized only to the 1H channel and subsequently, the cause for this has been addressed.  My tests today show that the system is […]

UPDATE : AV500 – RELATED

UPDATE – AV500 ! TXO-1H {13C,19F} PROBE IS BACK

Dear Users As we suspected, a mechanical issue was the cause of 13C channel’s failure.  We could fix this in-house with the happy ending that 13C Tune and Match behave pretty smooth now. The TXO probe is back in the magnet, ready to collect data. NMR Facility Manager 12/7/21

ALERT ! AV500 – POSSIBLE PROBE SWAP TODAY ON THE CARDS

Dear Users The TXO probe has been needing some attention vis-a-vis the 13C channel.  As I speak, we are looking into it.  If it’s a quick fix in-house, the same probe will go back in the instrument.  If not, I will have to place the BBO probe in its place. Sorry for this last minute […]

UPDATE : AV300 – SHIMMING ISSUE RESOLVED

Dear Users At least some of you had informed us about Topshim failure.  The root cause of this has been identified and rectified.  With standard sample, everything behaved OK. Nevertheless, if you see issues with your own samples in different solvents, please reach out again without any hesitation. Your feedback is very important to us, […]

UPDATE ! AV300 – IS BACK TO NORMAL OPERATION – PLEASE BOOK TIME AS NEEDED

Dear Users The two seemingly small, but pesky problems have been sorted out, with our recent computer maintenance operations: You can comfortably “Drag and Drop” your datasets onto the ‘blue’ screen area, without freezing the screen now. In the login screen,  when you type your password, it NO LONGER truncates it on its own and […]
