REMINDER ! PLEASE RESERVE YOUR NMR TIME FOR GG500 AND 300 INSTRUMENTS !

Dear Users While we are very happy to see that you are all getting comfortable with the truely ‘walk-on’ nature of running NMR with our new NEO500 system,  unfortunately,  this process cannot yet be replicated on the other instruments. Until we get a fully automated setup  with multiple sample handling on the other instruments, YOU […]

UPDATE ON NEO500 – SYSTEM WILL GET TO MAINTENANCE MODE IMMEDIATELY

Hello All The hardware parts reached earlier than exepcted, and the system is not shimming at all with the current configuration. It makes sense, therefore, to swap the hardware without any further delay and test it. As an upside, if everything goes well,  the instrument will be released much earlier than expected. Please wait for […]

ALERT ! NEO500 – SYSTEM WILL BE DOWN BRIEFLY FROM 1.30 PM FOR HARDWARE WORK

Hello Users The remedial circuit boards that should resolve the intermittent Shim failure, will be installed and tested in the system starting from 2 PM and a bit of preparation is needed before that. Please do NOT queue any samples after 1 PM today. Any halted runs between 1 PM and the instrument down time […]

NEO500 : IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION ABOUT TUBE LENGTHS

Dear Users While you were trained on the new NEO500 system, you were told that it is OK to use the J-Young type tubes even with this fully automated system.   This is definitely true, but certainly there is a caveat to that statement. Please look at the picture below.   The ‘dotted line’ is roughly the […]

ALERT ! NEO500 – SHIM QUALITY ISSUES

Dear Users Many of you might have noticed that the lineshape and resolution you got for many of your samples in the past several days are not what you expected, that too from a mint condition instrument such as NEO500. We are aware of this and have been applying remedies to resolve this transparently.  I […]

UPDATE ON AV300 : SYSTEM HAS UPGRADED VT CONTROL NOW !

Dear Users Thanks to a low temperature chiller that we repurposed from the recently decommissioned AV500 console,  the AV300 system now has much better temperature stability and also the capability to lower your sample temperature close to 0 deg. C, if you wish to. Temperature stability is quite important, when it comes to Lock and […]

UPDATE ! GG500 – UPGRADE TO NEW PROBE POSTPONED

Dear Users The Smart Probe Install is delayed due to some technical issue.   We need the manufacturer to provide us a configuration workaround before the new probe can  be used with GG500. I will keep you posted as to further developments. Currently, the system has the TXO-19F{1H,13C} probe installed in the magnet. NMR Facility Manager […]

UPDATE ! GG500 – VT SYSTEM UP

Dear Users It turned out to be a simple problem that caused the VT system not controlling the temperature.  The instrument is working normally now. Please go ahead and reserve time for immediate use. Please remember that an important hardware upgrade is happening tomorrow, and the instrument won’t be ready until Wednesday.   NMR Facility […]
