UW CHEMISTRY NMR

Users are requested to revert back to their usual UWNetid based login with immediate effect. The ‘genuser‘ account will be frozen immediately.

The LDAP based account needs an upgrade with security certificate and until this is completed, users have to use the genuser account of the past to login the system.  I apologize for the inconvenience.

Users should be able to login without any issues. If not, please do not hesitate to post an entry in the log or contact the facility manager via email. Please include any messages that you notice on the screen.

New computer has replaced the decade old machine in AV300. Users will be able to notice swifter response.  There are a few loose ends to tie and so the direct printing from within Topspin will not work immediately. Network issue and its related consequences are resolved.  I will remind the users at this time : “Please help us help you by not rebooting the computer anytime you see an issue. Just post it in the log and let us handle it”. Thank you for the cooperation.

A possible hardware related issue has the made the network unreachable for the AV500 host computer and being looked into.  Updates will be posted when we make progress…

The networking issue that caused the slow down of NMR login has been rectified.  Users are requested to report any abnormal behaviour that they may notice.

The slow response behaviour noticed for AV300 is now observed in AV301 as well and the initial investigation points to a possible IT connect related network problem. The slow response of the host computer over the past couple of days is being investigated.  An update will be provided once the cause is identified and remedied.
