UW CHEMISTRY NMR

The IT support is informed about the problem with the NMR reservation server.  Update will be posted about the progress made in due course.    

Users can login with their UWNetid as before.   Thank you for your patience.  As an added appeal,  I will request you to refrain from rebooting the computer, especially as a way of expressing your frustration.  You might be causing more problems than you expected.

The authentication mechanism that allows UWNetid logins is not functional at the moment and we are looking into it.  Until this is resolved, the workstation is not usable.  Sorry for hte inconvenience.  An update will be posted once the problem is fixed.

The old computer suffered an irrecoverable hardware failure but the storage disks seemed to have survived.  The replacement PC for this instrument was almost ready and we are accelerating the preparation of the same. The new computer upgrade ran into problems with networking issues.  The old computer box is put in place and the spectrometer can continue to work as usual. The phoenix server will go down for fixing the intermittent FTP problem. The system should be back up in about 15 minutes.  Please look for further updates here.

We have tested that the UW netid login to the NMR hosts are working once again.   We are requesting users to get back to their normal login mode i.e. use your UWNetid.  The temporary ‘genuser’ account will be frozen with immediate effect.
