AV500 : ALERT – DELAY DUE TO COMPUTER ISSUES

The hard disk of host computer has gone in to automatic de-fragmenting mode and the process will take at least until 3.00 pm to complete. I will post an update once the system is ready and functioning. Existing bookings until 3.00 pm will be cancelled due to this.

AV300 : SYSTEM READY FOR USE

The system is ready to go. Due to an ‘operator error’ i.e. oversight from myself, the reservation calendar was blocked till now. That is taken care of and users can book the times as usual. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

AV500 – COMPUTER UPGRADE NOT FINISHED

Due to a networking hardware issue the new computer could not be successfully placed for regular operation. We will announce once the problem is sorted out. For the present the older computer will drive the spectrometer as before.

AV500 SYSTEM UPDATE

The AV500 system will receive a new computer that controls the spectrometer and runs the Topspin software. The system upgrade is slated for tomorrow, Tuesday the 14th Aug ’12, from 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm. There will be no changes in the way users access the spectrometer after the upgrade.

AV301 : Disk Quota Update

AV301: SYSTEM IS READY FOR USE

Home directory has been expanded in size. Automatic clean up of web browser files in place to pre-empt filling up of disk space in the future.
