ATTENTION ! – USERS WHO EMPLOY J-YOUNG NMR TUBES…PLEASE READ !

J-Young NMR tube users must be fully aware by now that tubes that are bent from being perfectly linear cannot be ejected comfortably and they can even cause breakage inside the NMR probehead. Most of the time, the stuck tube entails complete removal of the probe from the magnet, followed by a not so simple […]

UPDATE ! AV300 – PROBE IS FIXED AND READY FOR REGULAR USE !

The broken glass components inside the probe has led to the tuning/matching issues, which is taken care of now.  If you had noticed difficulty in shimming in the past as well as a longer than usual pulse width, those are related to this internal mishap as well.   The system is tested to be stable and […]

UPDATE ! AV500 – OPEN FOR USE AGAIN – NOTE PROBE CHANGE

Please note that the probe that has been pu in is the BBO with Z-gradient. General:  Similar to the BBI probe, you use the rotary tool to tune 1H channel.  For the X-channel i.e. 13C, 31P, etc., you use the slider tool.    Please be gentle with both of them.  If this probe breaks in short […]

UPDATE ! DRX499 – WHAT WENT WRONG WITH THE PROBE ?

First of, the good news is that 13C channel of the probe is made to work normally after fixing the following problem.  Here is a snap shot of the wobb : The 13C channel tune was broken, most probably because of excessive force used on the 13C tuning rod.   We have been appealing to the […]
