UPDATE ! AV500 – SYSTEM READY FOR USE
The 13C channel tuning problem has been fixed. I would like to emphasize the following: ” please be gentle with the tuning and matching knobs; do not use excessive force and try to turn them beyond their stop position, ever ! ” Along with this, we have also made sure that the 1H channel tuning […]

ALERT ! AV500 — SYSTEM TEMPORARILY DOWN
I had to pull out the probehead to fix a tuning issue on 13C channel and we are working on it. I estimate that the system will be ready for normal operation by tomorrow noon, latest. Thank you NMR Facility Manager 10/8/2020

UPDATE ! AV500 – LOCK SYSTEM
We received some more input in the past few days about the Lock system being ‘unpredictable’. But as it turns out, this was only an apparent observation, driven mainly by the miss-setting of the Lock field for different solvents. The problem has been remedied and I have tested with two diverse lock solvents that are […]

UPDATE ! AV500 – LOCK SYSTEM IS WORKING FINE
Lock system is functioning as expected with a solvent such as CDCl3, which was reported to be a problem earlier today. I have also checked with the aqueous solvent mixture of the decoy sample and locking is working OK now. NMR Facility Manager 9/20/2020

UPDATE ! AV301 : PROBEHEAD TESTED AND SYSTEM READY FOR USE
Dear Users The ATMA problem in 1H channel is fixed. Given below is a 1D proton from a sample in CDCl3. As is evident, the S/N as well as lineshape are on the mark. The only Caveat I will add is this : if you are trying to use an aqueous sample with 90% H2O, […]

UPDATE ! AV301 – PROBE IS REPAIRED AND WILL BE TESTED AND RELEASED SOON
The electronic issue has been rectified in-house. I am hopeful that the probe should be available for regular use by tomorrow. I will confirm the same in a following post before releasing the instrument. Thank you for your patience. NMR Facility Manager 9/3/20

UPDATE ! AV301 : PROGRESS BEING MADE IN FIXING THE PROBE
Hello Users Apropos the ailing probehead, I am glad to add that the route cause is identified and we should be able to remedy it in-house. I hope my next update will be to say that the probe is back in action ! Stay Tuned NMR Facility Manager 9/3/2020

ALERT ! AV301 – SYSTEM DOWN DUE TO PROBEHEAD ISSUE
Hello All Many of you might have noticed and some of you have given feedback about the rather poor S/N on this system in the recent past. Especially, today people have noticed that ATMA is not working as expected. Further investigation shows that there is indeed a hardware issue with the probehead on the 1H […]

UPDATE ! AV301 – SHIMMING ISSUES
Hello All A primary reason for the horrendous lineshape and difficulty in getting a decent shim-set on this instrument, of late, was due to a really dirty and grimy interior of the probehead i.e. the part where the RF coil wraps around the NMR sample tube, when you land the sample. This goopy resin sticking […]
