DRX499 – INSTRUMENT DOWN DUE TO USER ERROR
A user has managed (again) to drop a sample tube without a spinner into the magnet bore. Currently we don’t know the extent of damage this has caused but we are investigating. An update will be posted once the instrument is revived back to usability.

AV700 UPDATE : SYSTEM IS REVIVED
The workaround is functional and the spectrometer is working again. The probe change to solids will be completed today, as planned.

AV700 ALERT : SYSTEM DOWN DUE TO PNEUMATICS PROBLEM
The proposed probe change is postponed to tomorrow since the console has a damaged filter system. A workaround is being tried and if the console can be revived immediately, then we will be on track with the original schedule. An update will be posted in due course.

AV700 : PROBE CHANGE ALERT
The solutions HCN probe will give way to the solids MAS probe come Monday, the 6th of May ’13. The spectrometer will serve the solids work needs for about four weeks from this date.

AV500 – POSSIBLE VT ISSUE
Users have mentioned that they are not able to bring the VT set point below approx. 285 K. We are looking into this and an update with more information and planned remedy will be posted here. Stay tuned…

AV500 UPDATE : Screen Freeze Resolved
Users can drag and drop the datasets as before, if they prefer that method. The spectrum screen will not freeze with this operation. Nevertheless, the Right Click has a context menu that has more items that are useful, other than opening the dataset.

A software patch needs to be applied to remove the issue of screen freezing when you drag and drop an existing data set from the File Browser onto the Topspin spectrum window. The intermittent data access issue is resolved. Users are requested to note that, there is a fall back available in situations when data is not seen from Phoenix. AV800 – IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Users of 800 spectrometer are reminded that the power outage on April 13 resulted in issues with the cryopanel. Those issues have been resolved.
