UPDATE ! ALL SYSTEMS BACK TO NORMAL

The network issue has been identified and rectified.  All NMR host computers are functioning as expected. p.s.: Sorry for the cliche, but users have taken the liberty to reboot couple of the computers, thinking that they are solving the problem.  They were hanging and it did not help. UPDATE ! AV500 – GOOD OLD BBI PROBE IS BACK…

We have managed to fix the X-channel in house and also replaced broken parts where the sample resides inside the probehead.   Since things look  pretty good with the probe (see image of water suppression : BBI_Sucrose_ES_after_fix ) we are releasing the instrument for use  with BBI probe in place.   We will check a few more […]

UPDATE ! AV500 – OPEN FOR USE AGAIN – NOTE PROBE CHANGE

Please note that the probe that has been pu in is the BBO with Z-gradient. General:  Similar to the BBI probe, you use the rotary tool to tune 1H channel.  For the X-channel i.e. 13C, 31P, etc., you use the slider tool.    Please be gentle with both of them.  If this probe breaks in short […]

UPDATE ! AV500 – PROBE CHANGE TAKING PLACE

The BBI probe  X-channel needs extensive troubleshooting to fix the tuning/matching problem outlined earlier. In its place, we have put the BBO probe as a surrogate. Since this is the first time this probehead is being used in this magnet, it might take longer than usual to prep the probe with optimal shims etc.  We […]

ALERT ! AV500 – PLANNED DISRUPTION NEXT MONDAY

The BBI probe is observed to have some grounding issues on the X-channel, that makes tuning/matching difficult when you run ‘wobb’.  We will remove the probe to take care of this on the bench on Monday forenoon, the 2nd May ’16.  I expect this to be a short operation. NMR Facility Manager 4/29/16
