AV500 : automation scripts not working

Familiar automation scripts such as ‘xaua’ are not functioning as expected.  This is being looked into.  Please use workarounds that are viable. For instance, ‘xaua’ can be replaced with ‘rga’ followed by ‘zg’.   Please contact facility staff for assistance with this.

AV300, AV500: PRINTING OK

The long standing problem of not able to print spectra from either the Topspin window or with the xwinPlot, plot editor program is now resolved. For routine use, you can use Ctrl-P  to print whatever is displayed in a active Topspin window to the printer, without the necessity of starting the plot editor.

AV500 : ALERT – DELAY DUE TO COMPUTER ISSUES

The hard disk of host computer has gone in to automatic de-fragmenting mode and the process will take at least until 3.00 pm to complete.  I will post an update once the system is ready and functioning. Existing bookings until 3.00 pm will be cancelled due to this.

DRX499 : VT SYSTEM UPDATE : PLEASE READ

AV300 : SYSTEM READY FOR USE

The system is ready to go.  Due to an ‘operator error’  i.e. oversight from myself, the reservation calendar was blocked till now.  That is taken care of and users can book the times as usual.  Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

The AV300 system  is functional. We are wrapping up running a few more tests. The spectrometer will be available for use from 11.00 am.

AV300 : NMR LAB FLOODING

An overnight flooding of the 1st floor of Bagley Hall, right above Rm.37, led to water leakage via the ceiling that drenched the AV300 console.  The lab has been mopped up and we are checking that the console is not damaged due to this incident.
