ALERT : AV700 – ISSUES WITH SOLIDS NMR
We are currently investigating a sample handling problem with the solids state NMR probe. It is likely that the remedy might take a long time. In such a case the instrument will return to solution NMR operation mode and I will post an update on the same, when that happens.

AV500 – GRADIENT ASSISTED SHIMMING – Topshim program
Many of you might be aware that the AV500 console acquired the ability to do fully Automatic shimming using the Topshim program from within Topspin. The system uses either 1H or 2H NMR resonance signals to accomplish this along with gradient coils placed in the NMR probe. This means that no matter which lock solvent […]

UPDATE : AV700 – PROBE CHANGE – SYSTEM TO SWITCH TO SOLIDS on April 1st, Wednesday
All users and especially Solutions NMR users should note that the AV700 system will be switched to Solid State NMR operation beginning April 1st, Wednesday. The system is expected to perform MAS NMR data collection for about 8 weeks. Those of you who are interested to explore solid state NMR should contact Adrienne Roehrich for […]

AV500 : ALERT : LOW VT SYSTEM NOT AVAILABLE
The LN2 evaporator assembly cracked open and it is being repaired as we speak. Till that is ready, users won’t be able to do a low VT run which requires LN2 evaporation. We will post an update as soon as the system is operational in this regard.

UPDATE : AV300 – SAMPLE SPINNER RECOVERED FROM MAGENT
Users are strongly advised to pay attention to the way they position sample tubes in the spinner before injecting in the magnet. One person’s carelessness is going to cost NMR time to all the users. Thank you for your cooperation.

AV700 – UPDATE : THE NEW BBO PROBE IS READY FOR USE.
Users can block time for this X – direct detect double resonance probe that includes Z-gradient capability. Please note that the 1H sensitivity will be quite lower compared to that of a BBI probe and one should plan the experiments accordingly. Please ask one of us if you have questions.

AV700 – UPDATE ! NEW BBO SOLUTIONS PROBE WILL BE READY FOR REGULAR USE SHORTLY
The 700 MHz instrument has a new BBO solutions probe installed that is capable of observing two nuclei at the same time. This is a state of the art probehead with Z-gradient capability and it can reach sample temperatures of 110 C, for prolonged runs. With the modern low VT system, the samples can be […]
